Everywhere we have stores, we know there are families & organizations alike that rely on us to be there to help meet their needs. And rightly so. Those neighborhoods are the same places that our associates live, work and go to school, just like our customers. And when we learn about causes that we believe in, we do everything we can to help.

For the second year, Albertsons Southwest division is a proud partner with KTAR 92.3 News Talk radio, and we’re united in our support of the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center.

This February, when you go to any Albertsons store in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico or El Paso, TX, you can give to make a difference in the life of a child with austim spectrum disorders (ASDs).

The incidence of ASDs has exploded in the past decade with the latest studies revealing that approximately 1 in 110 children are affected by an ASD (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2009), including 1 in 70 boys. In the early 1990s, the incidence of autism was 1 in 10,000. This alarming rise has now given autism the undesired ranking as the most prevalent childhood developmental disorder in the U.S.

If you represent an organization that is active with ASD research or families affected by ASD and are interested in participating, please go to SARRC’s website at http://www.autismcenter.org/.
