HEALTH HAZARD – URGENT PRODUCT RECALL – Albertsons brand fresh 93% lean ground beef

Colorado Springs, CO, (November 9, 2010) – Albertsons is voluntarily recalling from sale all Albertsons brand fresh 93% lean ground beef sold at their store located at 7055 Austin Bluffs Parkway in Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday, November 6, 2010.  The incident is isolated to this single store.

This recall is limited to Albertsons brand fresh ground beef that was sold pre-packaged with a Sell-By date of November 7, 2010. It is suspected that there may be small pieces of metal and plastic in the product.

Out of an abundance of caution, Albertsons urges its customers who may have purchased Albertsons ground beef from the Austin Bluffs Parkway store in Colorado Springs, CO to return it to their nearest Albertsons for a full refund or replacement—or to simply discard the product immediately.
